2009 Exhibit of the TreasurePostcards Project
The exhibit by Arts for Global Development showcases over 100 artworks of women artists from around the world.TreasurePostcards sales proceeds will benefit Friends of Orphans, an award winning organization in the Pader district of northern Uganda that has been working fervently to create normalcy for the child mothers, orphans, former child soldiers, abductees and women; and reintegrate and empower those impacted by the conflict and HIV/AIDS.Treasure Postcards Project will be on display at Touchstone Gallery until March 28th. Panel - "Rejuvenating Communities with Creativity: A Dialogue around Arts Therapy, Socio-economic and Gender Specific Development". The panel discussion, as part of our International Women’s Day celebration will start at 6:45 pm.

Crafts Sale from the Anatolian Artisans
During the March 12th event you’ll be able to purchase artisan products from Turkey at very reasonable prices that are currently on sale in the Textile Museum and Smithsonian’s Freer/Sackler Museum gift stores. The proceeds from sales will benefit low-income women artisans in Turkey.

Mediterranean finger food, light beverages and wine will be served.

*$5 donation will be requested at the event entrance. All proceeds will support Friends of Orphans programs in Uganda.
